@TheTrollMallet Because of the greatness of America and the compassion of the man he shot

James Earl Ray lived to be 70 years old. He snuffed out the life of MLK Jr. at the age of 39. Can anyone explain how JER was allowed to live so long?

The civil war was about different things to both sides... and different things to members of both sides. Don't oversimplify things, because it hides an important dynamic of American politics. The government routinely and systematically lies to the people about cases of war. Northerners and southerners were both mislead about the other side.
Banks financed the north. When Lincoln tried to clean house after the war, he was shot. The Civil War is a very complex topic... slavery is only one part.

I partially agree with you. It's true than that kind of living can create the perfect environment for violence and crime. But it's also true than it's not a compelling reality. The African-American community must to transcend these facts and take full and sole responsibility for their mediocrity. No more excuses!.
