Puppy linux quick bootup on old PC

Pentuim III laptop (IBM thinkpad T21, 750mhz)with 256mb ram cold boot to wireless surfing the net in 1 min40 secs ;D This same laptop takes over 5 mins for xp to start up and explorer to load.

Ich liebe Puppy,ich benutze einen P III mit 900 Mhz etwas über 400Mbyte Ram.Das läuft wie geschmiert inkl. Flash 10 ,Pidgin und VLC Player.Kann mich echt nicht beschweren.:)

How do you install more programs in Puppy Linux? Is there a repo or something?

I installed Puppy 4.3.1 on a Pentium 2 with 319mb of Memory and a nVIDIA TNT2 witrh 16mb. It works fine and most of my Hardware are ready (Sound not tested because i use this PC only for testing.

I also testet SUSE 11.2 with XFCE, but this takes time and time and time; booting Time is 300sec.

Puppy does this all in 77sec :-)

It works for me well on Dell Latitude CSX-H 500mhz laptop. I never had an issue with new wireless adapter called "Rokman" usb 2.0 wireless adapter I bought from Ebay. Just click "connect" icon on puppy's desktop. You figure it out.. It's aint hard! Be sure check out in Ebay "wireless usb adapter linux" and it'll lists adapter works with Linux.
