Right click taskbar, click task manager, click processes, disable any programs your not using! Leave Explorer.exe DWM.exe Svhost.exe though
Turn of themes (areo - vista)
Install more ram

I wasted 3 min of my life let me teach u kid! type %temp% , temp , recent in run command folders with many temp and shortcuts wud oprn delete them all!!
