Would anyone recommend buying a pair of sai from ebay? I found a nice pair on there that caught my fancy and I have a inspiration these types of things, I'm pretty good with nunchaku's and I want to give the sai a try and where I live I dont know where to buy any for a reasonable price, so is it safe to buy a pair? The description of the sai is 18 inch black full tang metal.

See I'm trying to learn a more 'sporty' version of sai for a musical form in competitions. My sensei was telling me of these guys that use to do a sporty sai but he had forgotten their names. This video was helpful for basic spins but I had already figured them out on my own and am looking for more. Does anyone have any ideas who my sensei might have been referring to?

Actually with Sai it's probably better to get the real stuff from the start. Actually with all weapons... Rubber weapons inspire laxity with proper grip and technique because they are of less danger to the wielder. You get false confidence and when you finally wield the real thing... you're in for a nasty surprise...
