DARK AM I YET LOVELY
(Song of Songs)

Dark am I yet lovely as tents of Keder
As the pavilions of Solomon
Don't hate me because the sun has darkened me
All my mother's sons were so angry with me
They made me watch the vineyards
My own things I did not guard
On my bed at night I sought whom my soul loves
Oh I sought I sought but I found him not
So I ask you daughters of Jerusalem
Where is my love oh tell me have you seen him
Majestic as Lebanon stately as cedars
His mouth so delicious his fragrance so pleases
Such is my beloved such is my darling
And if you see him say my heart is pining
For the kisses of his mouth and his flavours
Oh the king has brought me into his chambers
Said I delight in his love
Say he's the one my soul was
(Tell him) Vast floods can't quench love no matter where love's hid
Rivers can't drown love no matter what love did
So when you do find him out
Bring him to my mother's house
Into the chamber of her who conceived me
Oh then will he know me and then will he see me
Tell him that love isn't done
Tell him don't leave me alone

  • @Kapojos good for you. well done

  • @dterzyan i am a man and i like the way she looks!

  • @cervusadfontes Funny thing, I don't know if you did it intentionally, but "I grew up and put away childish things" is actually from the Bible

I Corinthians 13:11 "When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things."

I'm not starting anything religious, or getting involved in any religious discussion, I just thought it was interesting, especially if it was unintentional.

  • shes so beautiful. i cant stand it when ppl bad talk about how she looks just bc she doesnt dress according to how men and society thinks a women looks beautiful.

JUST LISTEN TO HER GORGEOUS voice.

  • hey great sinead

    art

  • @hadassah37: If this is from Song of Solomon, how does it have anything to do with Jesus, a mythical character purportedly born some 5 centuries after this was written?

  • The Jewish faith and the Christian faith are intertwined. As Christians believe Jesus was God incarnated on earth the Song of Songs is just as much theirs to love and sing as it is the poetry of the Hebrews. I wish the people of the Abrahamic faiths would stop bickering over what belongs to who. At this point isn't it fair to let the love and beauty belong to all in hope of inspiring hope and peace? How many more wars must the people of these faiths fight to put aside the pride and arrogance?
