I've always listened to this storyteller's session, and I was always confused about the beginning part, haha.

Same here. I've listened to it countless times, it's one of my favorites, but I've never been able to make sense of the first part.

Tom is amazing. One of the greatest talents America has ever produced. I have never had the chance to see him live, but it is at the very top of my "Must experience before I die" list. I hope to see him in a venue just like this when I do. Intimate, table setting with a candel centerpiece and a good cognac. Gives me goose bumps just thinking about it.

This Jersey Girl thinks this is Beautiful.  What else can I say? Beautiful... Yes, Brucie's cover is great, but hearing this being sung by the Tom the writer himself, well... Beautiful.

Sung with great emotion. Tom sings so rough it smoothes onto you. Preamble is nice also.

truly a fantastic performance from a fantastic artist. i love tom waits! such a beautiful song! i personally will take this over springsteen's version any day!

ahh this amazing,, i love the stories he tells, if anyone didnt catch it the movie he was watching was the ox-bow incident, thats what i else i love about tom waits, i dont think thats a famous film but he doesnt care, he talks about it anyway,, tom is the man :) :) :) :) :)
