Experiments in Video Style and Format. Can a man talk for 13 minutes on a bushwalk, and still maintain an audience?

"Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living."

  • I've been thinking along similar lines lately. I have made my share of pretty music videos or at least videos with music and experimented a little with more narative forms with my kids and myself talking. I'm not a fan of straight blogs but yours with an elemnet of travel, location and thought provoking comments on where filmaking, youtbe and Tv might be going as well as your personal story was a nice blend of subject matter.that held my interest all the way.

  • @TomHarper68 Thanks Tom, look forward to seeing your bushwalking vids :)

  • Hi Mark: This is looking and sounding pretty good. Don't worry about the length for now, test the audience and find the sweet spot. You have a great voice and demeanor suitable for this kind of narrative. I believe you may well be on the cutting edge of something. Go for it! Your friend in Ottawa, Rudy from the Facebook group.

  • @ottawawebdesigners Thanks Rudy, I could have probably added a few more cutaway shots of the scenery, but I'm enjoying just experimenting with different styles...and never done a rap in a video before, he he

  • I really enjoyed this honest, new style of video. Like you, I don't enjoy the editing process very much. Tedious days of writing scripts, recording voice overs, adding music and transitions, etc. I would also like to explore this method and see how it goes. I think this was very well done and kept my interest throughout the journey. Best of luck on your new adventure!

  • Thanks for another great video Mark, as a lover of nature I enjoyed watching every bit of it, wabbly or not the pure essence of nature and its beauty was pleasently felt, I love your honesty and how you keep it real, :)

  • Let loose Mark...looks like you are! I love the wobbly camera, the waffling and the seriousness and silliness. Enjoy your meditation, its like internal medication :) See you again in youtube land.

  • @n334411 Im glad you are still watching my videos. The last time I did vipassana was just before meeting your mum so quite a while ago. keep up your youtube videos, made me giggle, particularly you singing :)

  • @overlander why yes it is hehehe i am 13 in year 8 now :)

  • @TheStargirl885 Probably can't film during the 10 days, but plan on doing some vids straight after. I remember last time I did it, when it;s over, it's like you just have this energy that makes everyone who meets you smile.
