In this clip you can see some shots taken at 18mm, 250mm and a crop at 100% of the 250mm shot. There are also some random shots that I have taken with the sigma 18-250mm. All photos are taken hand held with the Canon 550D.

  • does it works with 600d aswell ?

  • @leelakrishnaboyapati Yes, it will work with all canon cameras with aps-c sensor. Not sure about the fullframe ones.

  • Hi, I have Sigma 18-250 and i do not seem to get the zoom so close. I am sure this is REALLY stupid, by I guess i do not know how to zoom in such distances, it can obviously be done, looking at your images. help please!

  • @ingridaud Hello

The first 2 shots are made at the 18mm setting and at the 250mm setting. The last shot is a 100% zoom done in a photoediting program on the computer of the 250mm shot. So how much you can zoom in with that, all depends (i belive) on the specs(Megapixels?) on the camera used for the shot. Hope that made any sense at all to you :)

  • Hey! Im seriously considering buying this lens. I currently own a Sigma 17-70mm Macro IS HSM...Wonderful lens but I would be going from 2.8 to 3.5 aperture :( ..what do you think of that swap??

  • @SourNaik Sorry for the late comment... Why swap? have both. I have 3 other lenses I use all the time. But this Sigma 18-250mm is good to have on, say a holiday, where you only bring one lense. No need to change lenses in sandy/dusty or snowy locations. Going from 2.8 to 3.5 aperture is no big deal to me, that only means that to get a sharp images you will need a little more light.

  • Amazing. Amazing.

  • @prb2k9 sorry to bug in... and at such a long time for a reply... regarding your question... i would say it would depend on the kind of photography you are in.... this lens... 18-200 is a good lens if you are the kind of photographer that does not want to change lenses that often... but for me id prefer the 2 lenses over this as they will give you better image quality... i am saying this from experience... cheers mate!

  • @KKprivat Thanks for the response. And no problem on the delay- I actually did make the swap and now I actually have the Tamron 2.8 28-75mm (this is a full frame lens so the numbers are a little misleading on my cropped frame canon) I also got the Sigma 18-250. I think this is a great combo that I will keep for a very long time until I need a change. And yes, I am very impressed with the Sigma for multi-purpose use- but nothing beats this 28-75mm tamron 2.8, not even the 17-70mm Sigma I had!!

  • @prb2k9

Absolutely! Just bought me one for about $500 and It's far better quality lens than the canon 55-250. Keep the 18-55 for back up use but like the author says this pretty much covers most hobbyist needs. I also own a sigma ultra wide 8-16mm along with this just in case for thise tight stairway shots with scenic back grounds. for crop image sensor dslr i think sigma makes better stuff than canon. and VERY resonably priced
