Thanks for your sorry. I also have floaters for about 6 months in both eyes. My right is worse with huge blobs with tails and stuff. If I look at something bright, almost 100% of my vision is covered in this garbage. Do you still recommend vitrectomy even though you had complications? Are your current symptoms very bothering?

@cinevaxx Yes, with no doubt, I would still undergo the surgery. On a bothering scale, floaters are 100% and this is 30%, with only my messed up eye open, the bothering percentage would be like 60-70%. That's why I'm very scared to get FOV in my left eye as well.. We'll see what the future brings

Hi, any improvement in the last week? How long was your recovery after the surgery? I mean, how much time is necessary to become functional after the vitrectomy, like go back to work etc.? Did you have a lot of debris, inflamation cells etc. after the vitrectomy? Did your eye hurt? Sorry to bother you with all these questions, but I feel like i need the vitrectomy as well and I want to mentally prepare for it. Thanks and all the good vibes to you.

@oginskipp No improvements yet. I had an air bubble placed in my eye for 7 to 10 days after the vitrectomy. Recovery is not that bad, you don't have any pain, just very impared vision for 2 weeks and A LOT of eyedrops the first weeks. It all looks scary but you'll be very happy when the floaters are gone. Of course, there are a lot of risks. The complication I have, isn't even mentionned by the surgeon.

what caused your complication of retina? hypotony? if you had undergone sutures, would you get this complication?

1 more q did y had a sparks in eyes cuz of big floaters i mean those sparks briliants or smyhk ?

He was very sure that my retina would heal ( a few weeks it would take, it has already been 2 months since the surgery). He doesn't know what caused this problem and I am pretty sure it won't go away. He lasered my retina and i still see somekind of glare when I blink my eyes where the laser hit me. Although the surgery was a failure, the floaters are gone, and I am very graceful for that. Wether my eye heals or not, I am confident about doing my left eye as well.

I went to see him in 2009. He seems very competent and confident about his technic. He offered to perform FOV on me, but I still haven't made my mind about it (I'm worried about side effects) . What did he say about your wrinkled retina? Will it get back to normal after some time? Did he laser your retina, if so, did you have any side effects of lasering?
