Icom 706 and Buddistick

I tried the buddistick with my Icom 706. I am operating inside of my second floor apartment. I placed the buddistick in front of a window in my spare bedroom. I saw a huge improvement with the buddistick,especially on 40 meters. The ham you here in this video was located outside of Detroit MI, I am in Columbia SC. I could not hear the other ham he was talking to in Baton Rouge,La. Any comments as how to further improve my setup is greatly appreciated.

Yes I am in an apartment and using a buddistick from my spare bedroom. I am on the second floor and do not have access to put up an outdoor antenna.

I see this video is a few years old. But if you are still having problems with receiving (and transmitting), you might try one of the end fed antennas being offered on ebay. You can string it around your apartment during the day. But just hang it out the window at night for some good stealth operations!

Try to see if you can mount the Buddistick out the window in the sense that it is mounted on the edge of the window and extends away from the window at an angle. Getting your antenna up as high and as clear from any obstructions is the key.

This is a complete pie in the sky sort of suggestion but can you mount anything on your roof? A small beam on the roof works miracles!
