Just beat Ultimate with 22 rings. Let me tell you, what a good morale booster XD.
I'd advice to play directly on Ultimate and avoid standard and novice as it reflects the older games much better, but I know many gamers out there just don't have the time nor patience anymore.
Anyway, gotta keep getting the remaining rings for this nightmare to end. If you hadn't notice by now, I truly recommend this game! xP

The jumping is just part of the challenge... this game was made for gaming experts on it's hardest mode....

Ok, I'll agree with you there. Castlevania did get dramatically easier than their predecessors. But I still think that the portable ones are still fun.

this game is insane... this will truly test the gamers skill to the max! Definitely one of the hardest games out there. This is old school difficulty the way it should be. :)
