In Crowd - Back A Yard

The In Crowd were a popular Jamaican reggae show band of the late 1970s. Filberto "Fil" Callender was the core of the group on vocals and guitar.

The line-up changed several times and at various points, included amongst others,
Barry Bailey - Trombone
Mikey Boo Richards - Drummer
Clevie Browne - Drums, Vocals

Callender went on to a solo career, while Browne became half of one of Jamaica's pre-eminent rhythm sections and production teams, Steely & Clevie.

"Back a Yard", rejoiced about returning home to Jamaica to smoke some collie and celebrate love and life. The track was released in 1978 on the Cactus label and is one of the original two step records of that era.

The band were best known for "We Play Reggae" and "Back a Yard", but also had hits with "His Majesty Is Coming" and "Getting Cozy".
