  • science diet is a crappy food, no idea why vets recommend it

  • @dmbfan07cb They recommend it because;

    1. There so called pet nutrition classes are paid for by Nestle (Purina) and Hill's (Science Diet)

    2. Shelters get bags of Science Diet and Purina free or at discount prices

    3. The clinics get kickbacks for recommending the companies diets

    So you might think I'm lying? My sister in law is a pet nutritionist, and she worked as a vets assistant. She told me Purina sold them for 50% off if they recommended the food, same with Science Diet.

  • Science diet has meat by products in their food which I refuse to feed my cat. When I switched him to blue his health problems diminished. So paying $20 a bag ever 3 months is worth it for me if he is healthy, happy, and I'm no longer spending $200 on medicines and tests for his skin issues. Also yet you are all right, vets sell science diet like how doctors push drugs because they have representatives come in and tell them to sell so much and they get a discount or deal.Same with flea meds.

  • well blue wilderness is even better but its gonna rip through your wallet

  • @dmbfan07cb Vets are surgeons not dietitians.Like your username by the way, DMB is the best.

  • You guys should check out Champion Petfoods (Orijen and Acana), it's like Blue Buffalo, except with free range meats and wild caught fish with all regional ingredients. The price is nearly the same too.

  • @dmbfan07cb Probably because they are paid to recommend it.

  • @dmbfan07cb THEY MAKE LOTSA MONEY WHEN OUR DOGS GET SICK, OR HAVE AN ONGOING ILLNESS CAUSED BY THEIR DIET

  • @djgeeter Your welcome, maybe one day companies that make cheap food with fillers and toxins will run out of business only to leave good companies like Canidae, Blue Buffalo, Innova, and Taste of the Wild in demand.

  • @vampire5003 wow, thanks for sharing that info, that is interesting to know, and now I understand why they "push" Science Diet so much in our town.

  • I feed my kitty Blue Buffalo wilderness because I trust that there is no bulls%^& in it, like corn meal, I love my cat so much and I am on the quest of finding the BEST food for him, as I want him around as long as possible !! cross science diet off the list !! damn vet propaganda is what it is, really. lips and assh&*(s for kitty, no thanks!

  • @vampire5003 the vets here get $10 for themselves for each bag of Science Diet they sell. Sell 10 bags a week, that's a $100 bonus they get for themselves. Of course we all know it's one of the biggest crap dog foods out there.
