I don't disagree with you that Dean would have been a better nominee than John Kerry. He wouldn't have had to deal with " I voted for it before I voted against it ". Had he won the Iowa primary, I doubt that his election night speech would have been an issue ( the scream ). Your congressman is Jim McGovern? No kidding, where are you from? He was my congressman when I lived in Fall River. He represented half the city, Barney Frank had the other half.

I just think that if Dean was the democratic nominee in 2004, then he might have made Dennis K vice president. Also my congressman, Jim McGovern and Ed O'Reilly (John Kerry's 08 Senate primary challenger) endorsed Howard Dean for president. So I thought he was better. He was against the war from the start. I liked him as DNC. I liked his energy behind his scream.

I met Howard Dean when he was still governor of Vermont and was a rumored presidential candidate. He seemed like a real prick. He came across as the kind of guy who felt he was smarter than everybody he came into contact with. That's why I did not support him. I worried that the side of him I saw would emerge and ensure Bush's re-election. John Kerry was no better either. Man, I wish Obama ran back then. If not Obama, I'd rather had seen John Edwards at the top of the ticket.

Great vid. Thanks. I remember when that 'threat level' was raised in 2004, & did think it was distinctly suspect.

I wonder if this is one of the crimes Dick Cheney was thinking of when he mentioned that "the statute of limitations has expired".
