"正气歌作于元世祖至元十八年(1281年)夏，文天祥被押赴燕京囚禁的第二年。诗的前一段(开头至道义为之根)热情洋溢地歌颂了支持他坚持斗争的浩然正气。开头十句，说
接着十六句，列举了历史上的十二名杰出人物，描述了他们的凛然正气和壮烈斗争。然后用八句，总论正气是天地、人伦、道义赖以存在的支柱。正气得到发扬!生死就会置之度外。
诗的后一段叙述自己的牢狱生活。由于有正气支撑着，就有力量承受一切的肉体痛苦，抵抗住各种疾病的侵袭，经得住百般折磨和考验。最后指出，历史上的英雄圣贤是他学习的榜样
译文：
天地之间正气存，赋予形体杂纷纷。
地上江河与山岳，天上日月和繁星。
人有正气叫浩然，充塞环宇满盈盈。
生逢圣世清明年，平平和和效朝廷。
国难当头见气节，永垂青史留类名。
齐国太史不惧死，崔杼弑君载史籍；
晋国董狐真良史，手握书法不隐笔；
韩国张良雪国耻，椎杀秦皇遭通楫；
苏武留胡十九年，终日手持汉朝节；
巴郡太守老严颜，甘愿断头不妥协；
晋代侍中名嵇绍，为救国君酒热血；
张巡当年守雎阳，咬牙切齿讨逆贼；
常山太守颜杲卿，骂敌骂断三寸舌；
辽东管宁着皂帽，清操自励若冰雪；
诸葛《出师》复汉室，鞠躬尽瘁何壮烈！
祖逖渡江誓击楫，奋威慷慨吞胡羯；
秀实夺笏击狂贼，贼头破裂直流血。
浩然之气多磅礴，志士英名万古存。
每当正气贯日月，谁把生死放在心。
地靠正气得以立，天靠正气成至尊。
三纲靠此得维持，道义以此为本根。
可叹我生逢乱世，竞无才力救危亡。
被俘仍戴南国帽，囚车押我到北方。
折磨摧残何所惧，酷刑只当饮糖浆。
牢房死寂见鬼火，春来紧闭黑茫茫。
老牛骏马共槽食，鸡窝里面栖凤凰。
一旦染病便死亡，枯骨弃野多凄凉。
如此恶境囚两载，各种毒害不能伤。
牢房阴森令人哀，是我安乐之天堂。
岂有智谋与巧计，能防邪毒来伤身。
光明磊落忠义心，我视生死如浮云。

Lee Kuan Yew may have did all he can to destroy his political rival, but Singaporeans, the residents of the now defunct Anson electoral constituency especially, will not forget Mr Jeyaratnam for who he really is, a freedom fighter and a democrat who will not lie back while his people suffer in silence.

and not to talk about the quality of Foreign Talent that LKY had invited...sure will have some FT is lousy one.
Well, LKY want to buy a lot of egg sure will have some bad egg inside his basket...because Talented Foreign is less. not all of them are really Talented some needed to fill up the job in Singapore for the sick of nobody want to work.

The success of conquer the China happen to be in Qin Shi Huang generation but the foundation was done by his great great grand father Qin Xiaogong so the idea come from Qin Xiaogong not Qin Shi Huang.

Comparison? Just a comment only, Can only say that the idea that LKY is using long long ago, someone is using it...similar idea not to talk about the quality
State of Qin started to invite foreigner talented during Duke Xiao of Qin (Qin Xiaogong) time where Lord Shang Yang was employed by Qin Xiaogong.

Law believe 人性本惡
人性本善 should be said 人之初性本善 mean where baby were born, the baby's 性 is 善.
There is an argument on 人性本惡, 人性本善 and also on what is importance of running a strong country on 治法 or 仁政、人治, 治國 etc...

LKY believe in 人心显恶 also mean人性本惡, because he learn all this during his time where he meet the WWII's Japanese occupation Singapore where native Singaporean turn out to behave evil 惡, that is the time he believe "Law" is the best ever medicine to prevent the worst to be happen.

S'poreans did NOT "behave evil" during Jap occupation: General Lim Bo Seng, 136th resistance fighters, and many patriotic S'poreans fought against the invaders! LKY was the evil traitor, working as an Eng-Jap interpreter for the Jap Propaganda Dept. His fellow traitor, Nathan, worked for the Jap Military Police. So I don't know why you want to make excuse for LKY's nonsense "law", many of which violate The Consitution - the highest law of the land.

Did Qin Shi Huang invite so many UNTALENTED foreigners to Qin, such that poor native Qin citizens comprised only 50+% of the poln, and housing price beaome unaffordable and there were too many horse carriages on the road, and there's not enough doctors to see patients? I don't think so! So I don't know what strange comparison you can make between Qin and Old Fart LKY's Leegapore!
