This is a fun Halloween vid. If you're confused about Hiccup's role in this because you've never seen The Corpse Bride, basically he's a living boy who was accidentally misunderstood by dead Rapunzel and mistaken as the one she's been waiting for. The other dead are telling Rapunzel's backstory, but in the end he's still afraid (and who wouldn't be?).
OH and as for how Rapunzel's hair turns short then is seen long again? I actually have an explanation for that: she waited for so long that her hair grew back to that length. When she made the vow, it allowed her hair to keep growing so she could keep track of time. Yeah.
