Nicole Scherzinger - Speed Painting by Chip Whitehouse

This is me, Chip Whitehouse, Speed Painting Nicole Scherzinger from The Pussycat Dolls. By "Speed Painting" I mean I Time Lapse recorded myself Digitally Painting a picture of Nicole. So what really took me about 5 fives hours is shown in about 4 minutes.

I DO NOT TRACE or use the Eyedropper Tool! I do everything by eye. It is the exact same thing as if I were doing an Oil Painting and I had ever color already mixed and in front of me. NO TRACING!!! NO EYEDROPPER TOOL! I pick the colors by EYE! ... Just want to make that clear...

great attention to detail. I guess now its time for me to graduate from MS Paint and use photoshop, looks pretty easy. You're pretty good at this but wahts the point? Well I guess you could work for magazines making ugly celebrities beautiful lol. Seriously great attention to detail, you obviously dont have the right and left brain battling eachother inside your head like I do.

@wheelmanstan LOL! Thanks xD And I ask myself that question all the time. WTF is the point? I have no idea. It's the most useless talent in my opinion. I mostly enjoy the process of portraits more than the finished product. These are more therapy than art to me. *shrugs* And you would be wrong. My brain is in constant turmoil over this. When I'm painting strictly portraits my brain does shut down and I only focus on one thing. But afterwards I'm like, UGH, why did I even do this?! IDK

@cuptow555 Yeah but you seriously do have a good eye at seeing all those little differences. A lot of folks I imagine can't concentrate that well on one thing long enough to accomplish much. It is a useful talent though. How do you think they come up with those fake ass before and after shot of people who use supplements that don't work worth a damn, they photoshop it. I wonder, are you one of those etch a sketch guys that can draw elaborate scenes too? Also do you oil paint, ya should.

@wheelmanstan xD I wish I was one of those Etch-a-Sketch guys but that shit is way to frustrating. And yes I paint with oils. It is, by far, my favorite medium. I just can't afford them right now :-\ Not being able to buy oil paints actually lead me to digital painting and the graphics tablet. Lmao. Was nice for awhile not having to do all the prep work and clean up for once. But now I miss it all. I recently bought myself a cheap little watercolor kit hoping it would fill my oil painting void

@wheelmanstan (cont'd) the watercolors DID NOT. Annoying ass medium LOL! Especially if you are used to oils. But it's fun learning something new so *shrugs*

@cuptow555 Yeah they are pretty expensive. I bought a bunch of cheap lucas art paints that were 200ml, huge and still use them. That's the way to go in my opinion even if you work impasto. If you're short on money may I suggest trying pastels. I was starting watercolor when I was younger and got frusterated so I bought a set of soft pastels and pastel paper and was amazed at how much fun and easy they were to use. Cheap and easy as pie, It's a lot like what you did on here/ and no drying time.

Did you just get the photo and put it in photoshop and make it look like a drawing the record degrading it more and more until you just had scribbles then play it backwards? Cause this is just crazy and unbeleivable!!! wow!
