As a Hamshentsi from Abkahzia, I understand the way you feel, in Gerogia our neighbours the geogians, the laz, russians, turks all called us ermeni.

My greatgrandfather left Hemsin village when he was 14 years old and escaped to Abkhazia with his family.

In his letters he tells us

Never forget the blood that runs in your veins

Never forget that you are Hamshentsi Hay

Never forget your Mother language

My language tells me I am Hamshentsi and Armenian

I have been to Turkey and visited our old village, I found many of my cousins and their families, and you will also be suprised that most of them know they are not Turkish and are Armenian. In public they all are Turkish, in private its the opposite.

All of them treated me like their lost brother, I felt love that I have never felt before. I fell in love with our old village it was fantastic.

I see your frustrations, and I sort of understand. OK there are Turks from Hemsin, so you call them Hemsinli or as we say Hemshenzi, but I speak to many of our people from Turkey and most of the real ones still speak our old language and they all accept very much that they are Turkish but also accept they are Hemshenzi as well.

Me for example, I am Iranian by nationality, Muslim & I call myself a Hemshenzi and I relate to armenians, why do you care so much? tun hemshezies??

First of all when someone calls him self "Hemsinli" in Turkish means from Hemsinli, it doesn't necessarily mean Hemshen, since 99% of the people in Hemsinli are Turk. So Armenians are spreading propaganda on the wrong places. And the Hemsen that do live in Turkey are all Sunni Muslim and consider Armenian to be an insult. Laz people used to use to insult Hemsen ... our hemsen don't just accept Armenians, they kinda hate them lol

Talk about yourself, most Hemsinili same as our family in turkey all of us know deep in our hearts we are of Armen prople, some hate to admit but they also know.

You forget this problem was big for Kurds as well, 20 year ago my Kurdish friends scared to say they are Kurds, but look now, everything changes and now Turkey must accept the Kurdish s well.

I am Hemsheni, still speak our language, my family moved to Iran in 1922, we are Muslim and and we are very happy to be Hemshen.

Why dont you all stop the hate and talk about the reason you are here, which is about our culture & language.

I am Iranian by nationality, I am Muslim by religion and I always be Hemshensti, that is what I am.
