This is really sad. I wish this on no one at all!

@langecarrie They thought removing the connected baby from Manar would save Manar's life. If they had remained connected, they would have both died--at least removing the other baby, cruel as it was, gave one of the two a chance of survival. It's a shame it didn't work, but it was for good reasons.

@Blakekss If you read the top comment, someone has written a very good definition of 'parasitic'. Medically, the term 'parasitic' is not an insult--it's merely stating that the undeveloped twin cannot live without relying on the fully developed twin that she is connected to. That's all.
-
@0576yinyang In this situation, the undeveloped twin is indeed parasitic because it has no functioning organs and is only able to survive through reliance on the fully developed twin. The term 'parasitic' does not denote whether or not something is 'human'.
-
Why is it called Parasitic if it was supposed to be another person
-
@monckeys what are you saying? the second head was a baby. she was able to see, to react, to feel and to think. it was not a parasite. maybe you should think and listen carefully before you tell us we are stupid bastards. "she has a complete brain". this second baby was able to feel. how would you feel without being loved, with being called parasite? i feel sorry for the second baby. i understand the doctors, but i feel sorry. terribly sorry.

I'm amazed but scared but I'm seen scary things and there up setting

Islam was a person, very conscious. Of course she could not speak, she had no lungs to do it. And she was a girl, like Manar, to the person who said you can not know, because they are identical twins. But both coul not survive, so I think the surgery was the right choice.
-
I agree with C6TheEpic. Technically, she wasn't a person. I mean you couldn't even tell if it was a girl or boy. It just was a parasite to Manar, and would eventually kill her.
-
I love that the argument here is that because Islaam (yeah that's her name, not just baby/parasite people) has a functional brain Manar's life should be compromised. If a fully functional brain is the criteria for saving a life then should those with brain damage or some form of brain death not count as people? Islaam would have prevented Manar from having any chance at life. She could respond to stimuli but without Manar she would die. She is a parasite, a medical parasite. Manar was a child.
@kyamato53 The term "parasitic" twin is a medical term used when there is a mass, or parts of another body attached to the baby that would have been a twin if it had fully formed. The term parasite is used to denote something that uses a host to live. In the case of a parasitic twin, the "parasite" cannot live on it's own as it has no organs of it's own. The term is medical, it isn't meant to be an insult.

@Testupdater Did you watch the show? The parasitic twin had a completely separate fully developed brain. It showed signs of awareness and reacted to touch, even becoming upset when they would play with the other twin. Not human? I will respectfully disagree.
