Rochester Institute of Technology alumnus Luke Adams '08 and his mother, Margie, finish third in the latest season of the CBS hit reality drama The Amazing Race.

Margie: You did a good job.
Luke: Hope you're proud of me.
Margie: So proud of you-- so proud of you! That whole experience was worth more than a million dollars.
[cheering]
Host: Margie and Luke, you are team #3. Congratulations, you guys ran an amazing race. Surely now, Luke, you will admit your mother is the bionic woman.
Jamie and Cara: Yes, yes!
Host: Tell me why your mother is so special.
Luke: A lot of deaf people's parents don't sign. I'm very lucky I have you.
Margie: He says a lot of deaf people their parents don't sign and they can't really communicate with their parents.
Luke: I'm very lucky to have you as my mom.
Margie: I'm very happy for Luke that he got to be on The Amazing Race. Every morning he'd wake up and pinch himself because he couldn't believe. He'd say, 'Mom, we're really doing this. Just to see how happy it's made him is its just great.
Luke: The first deaf person on The Amazing Race, Im very proud of that. I think deaf people think, oh, a deaf person on The Amazing Race means other deaf people can do the same as me. No matter what, deaf people can do anything.

  • If anyone noticed in this season Margie and Luke got 4th place or higher the whole time, never 5th place or lower

  • @TextLove1113 I agree with you, just because someone has a disability doesn't mean they can't do things, take a look at Charla from season 5 and 11 (She was on season 5 and raced on the all star edition)

  • I actually wanted Luke and Margie to win. It would've been incredible that someone with a disability as big as that could win the Amazing Race. All of you people who laugh at others with disabilities should literally be ashamed of themselves. You'll be laughing until one day, something as life changing as what people like Luke must go through on a day to day basis, happens to you. It's called karma, and its real. Be grateful of what you have and be giving to those who don't. At least you could

  • Margie & Luke deserve to win, even though I haven't had anything against Tammy & Victor winning (except when they bickered in leg 3.

  • I'm handicapped, I was born missing my leg, When wearing my prosthetic I walk with a bad limp but I can't help it, I was made fun of my entire life and throughout school not a day went by that jokes and wisecracks and laughter and sometimes bullying were directed at me. I was always tough at school and in front of other kids but often cried when I got home. Eventually I learned that the problem was not mine but my peers.

On that note: Luke's been a bitch ass momma's boy n needs to grow up.

  • margie and luke they are awesome :)

  • I LOVE MARGIE AND LUKE!

  • i live in rochester!

  • @iMidnightSkies Yeah, after seeing them on Sunday, I want Gary & Mallory, Ronald & Christina, and Mel & Mike in the final three. I want a parent/child team to win! It's like an all-female team winning the show before season 17.
