Blaskappelle Tschecháranka plays an encore after their "Lunch, Learn and Listen" performance at Butler's Steak & Ale as part of the 2010 Vintage Band Festival in Northfield, Minnesota. This was the group's first tour outside of Europe.

The group is a Bohemian-style wind band performing traditional brass dance and military music from the Moravia and Czech regions. The members of the band come from communities in South Burgenland near the Hungarian border and near the Austrian region of Styria.

Tschecháranka was founded as a student group at the University of Graz (Austria) Department of Music and arts in September 1999 by Thomas Zsivkovits, who has kept the ensemble of current and former students active for more than a decade. Most of them are music teachers, amateurs and university students.
