S2E/G Tracker Deck Landing Instruction (scripted)

Instructor is being more verbose than usual for the sake of the film. HMAS Melbourne is the carrier and an S2E/G is deck landing with the Sub-Lieutenant pilot under instruction in the left hand seat with the Lieutenant-Commander instructor in the right seat. Usually this RH seat is occupied by the TACCO Observer, co-ordinating the crew for ASW work.

Yes his comment on the original tape was "its not your bird your playing with" The tape was getting a bit old and was converted to dvd.Thats why its broken a little.

The young pilot and I were crewed together on this deployment which was the Indian Ocean in 1980. He was a great guy to fly with, we had one of the best boarding rates for the deployment. I saw the Sqn Commanding Officer (who was instructing for this footage and was previously a Vietnam helo pilot) in April 11 and he hasn't changed, albeit we are all some years older. The original was 'its not your bird your playing with'.
