A scene from the SciFi miniseries "Earthsea," featuring "Young Blades" actor Mark Hildreth, evil and with a British accent, and not doing badly with either. BONUS: The doorman is played by Richard Side, who was "Clive" in the Young Blades episode "The Exile."

  • Heero Yuy!

  • The tragedy & paradox is this: The reason to attach the "Earthsea" name to this oddity was a cynical move to create a product with a name recognizable to fans , thus securing a built in audience. But they only succeeded in alienating those who know the books , while also failing to win any new audience with a lackluster & heartless production. But , like true rapists , their only aims were selfish ones , uncaring of the destruction and ruin left in their wake. Screw them all.

  • @volpotmakmak Neither was Jasper, and Ged should be 13, not 25, and the Archmage was totally black and so old he could barely move, and Ogion had red-brown skin, not Danny Glover black. Le Guin had said that most of the people of the Archipelago should look like a mix of Native American/Eurasian. The only white person should be Tenar, and yet they had Kristen Kreuk, who is Eurasian, play her. And why is the Master of Doors so annoying?

  • @AutumnDevi Also, originally, the inhabitat of this story is mainly consist of black people...

But the film is full of white people...

  • I may be wrong but in the books it clearly stated the women dont go to the school...

  • "Hoookay, so we're looking to adapt this brilliant, deep, racially diverse fantasy series into a miniseries. Thoughts?" "Hmm, well lets start by taking away the inner journey metaphors and cutting back on the magic and whimsey...Finally, how do you feel about making all the characters whiter and older than they were in the books?" ".....FANTASTIC! Let's start right away!"

  • so this is where Kristin and Mark met! LOL

  • Sparrowhawk was NOT white!

  • sten's hot. i wanna have swell fun with him

  • @SFMonster For the same reason that he doesn't seem to wear a leather cloak.
