I think there are very few idiots who actually watch auto racing to see crashes and death. My father ran top fuel dragsters in the 60's and 70's and many of his friends were killed so i know first hand about the risks. But that is why we watch, THE RISK, it is amazing to watch these people drive awesome machines at these speeds always on the edge of disaster. What I am trying to say is we dont want anyone to be hurt but we thrive on the fact that they are risking it. Does that make sense?

This is one is the first in a long time to kill a driver

It's so sad, R.I.P. Dan, his family and friends.

But we love this sport. Driving a regular everyday vehicle is 95% more dangerous than driving a race car just an unfortunate incident

If people think it's such a horrible accident, why do they enjoy such dangerously fast races, where such accidents can and do occur? Would they be able to enjoy the races if accidents like this never happened, and there was no risk of bad accidents?

@cheekizms Usually one usually doesn't search for these kind of videos. most of the time you watch an innocent video that leads to another that keeps on and on until you get to a totally different part of youtube than you started at, this is why the "how did I get here?" comments show up a lot on some videos.

@cheekizms because i needed footage of what caused the crash for a film project i'm doing, and so you know the impact with the catch fence was not part of the video, i decided to omit it purely out of respect. you all out there zooming in on it are the people i worry have issues, why would you want to see such a great person dies up close and personal...tells me the state of the world is getting worse and worse. but as i dont agree w/what your doing i'll defend your right to do it!
