A short demonstration of the progress I've made resurrecting VAX APL V4.0 on a VAXstation 4000/90 running OpenVMS. APL uses a unique character set which posed numerous problems for implementors up till Unicode became a standard. APL uses a soft font download to the VT320 and compose sequences to generate all the APL characters from the limited characters defined on the keyboard.

Would you believe we used these VAX terminals (not exclusively, but there were 12 or so available in the main lab) at Lawrence Tech University in Michigan up until 2000-2001? There was a "network" called the Rebel Alliance that was hosted on the mainframe drive of one of the students. The Rebel Alliance hosted UMORIA and several other games. As people graduated, the Alliance got passed from student to student until it finally died as the school modernized the core network OS away from VAX.
