Though I have to say, you can do some pretty cool things in SC: moving across hanging pipes, and using your hands AND feet, so you can fit through small holes while climbing on poles. And SC got interrogation before MGS3 came out, IF I remember correctly.

Still, both great games, no need to compare them.

Don't get me wrong, I've played more MGS than SC, and I love MGS. But I'm not usually the type to compare games :P

MGS does it's thing, and SC does it's own thing, though both are stealth. Splinter Cell (at least the one I played on the Gamecube), focused more on sound and lighting to hide you, where as MGS focuses on cones of vision (in the first two games), and camo in 3 and PW, along with sound and footsteps.

Personally, in terms of polish and gameplay, MGS is the best choice. Pandora tomorrow had some retarded gameplay flaws that just got on my nerves. Try knocking out someone with a rubber bullet and hitting them somewhere besides the head. INSTANT ALERT. No radios or anything. MGS1 was the same way, but dude, it was a PS1 game from years and years ago and it still did it better than Pandora Tomorrow. Not to mention the story. However, I did actually like SC's brand of stealth and still do.

basically the missed the most important part of metal gear. the atmosphere. how all the characters are related, how their actions effect the timeline, how the missions have effected the timeline. along with that there are so many things not explained in the games that are in metal gear.
