  • richard dawkins and christopher hitchens sitting next to each other. im surprised that a black hole didnt form from the gravity well created by their combined intellects whos mass and density is comparable to a million neutron stars.

  • If you areso unlucky to find yourself on the opposite side of a debate of Christopher Hitchens or Richard Dawkins...........Kill yourself.

  • @atombond i think i'd end up in the foetal postion crying slightly

  • *disses religion people* I don't think I have to say more on this topic.. (MOre ON = MORON) OMG

  • @tommos1 It is for that reason they didn't put Stephen Fry on it. If he were there that exact thing would've happened ^^

  • @atombond Let alone both at the same time, haha

  • @Hornadayfan I can appreciate the sentiment but as a mental health professional I'd prefer it that you didn't drag "mental disorder" through the mud. Mental disorders are by far more detrimental to those who believe their delusions than religion.

Although it causes harm to the individual (esteem etc.), the harm is not enough for religious belief to be termed "mental disorder". At worst it's a social disorder.

  • @Hornadayfan *fistbump* YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!

  • religious beliefs are an "acceptable" form of mental disorder because so many billions suffer from them....

  • @ralph489 contd. they may have been defending a particular culture and religion falls inside that domain but the primary reason has and always will be occupation on foreign soil and atrocities committed on both sides that were not on the basis of religion but national allegiance.

  • @ralph489 sorry you are trying to comment on something you have never lived in and are viewing from across an ocean, I have lived here my entire life an dealt with it.

The religion again might be used as some kind of ridiculous absolution to the sin caused but both sides do it.

the main distinction has NOTHING to do with religion, the IRA were/are primarily nationalists not catholic. defending the church was/is not their primary goal nor was it the goal of the UDA to defend protestantism
