This is my second tribute movie for Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast, NTSC & PAL versions 1 & 2. This particular version has been re-mixed in HD with 5.1 sound & includes the game's Original Soundtrack. The game footage & stills were taken from February 2006 to April 2007. The game went offline the 2nd week in April 2007. Sega announced in 2006 that all Dreamcast PSO servers were to be taken offline permanently. Japanese servers went down on schedule on April 1st, however, the UK servers stayed live for an additional 2 weeks. During March & April 2007 I filmed my last weeks playing the Original Dreamcast version of PSO v2 (PAL/e version) online on the Official UK Servers up until the last day.

Notes:
(0) The original video, which contained copyrighted music from Red Flagg & Bond, has been deleted by myself because I didn't want to use AudioSwap.

(1) The character "Cacao" was a lv 166 Force (JP character). They were always online just standing in the lobby (racking up online hours). After 4/01/07, when the JP servers went down, the original Cacao vanished, a "fake" turned up (who was only lv2). The fake one in the final footage is giving some speech about how it was all a doomsday/April Fool's joke.

(2) Some video footage is very bad (dark or wobbly), because I was filming with only one free hand & playing the game with other. My video card at the time (GeForce 6800 ST) did not support TV-Out Video Capture. My 7600 GS doesn't either. Enjoy! :D [*JP=Japanese]

  • 13:39 (falling down) Fucking hackers are what ruined this game, besides piss-ass marketing.

  • Actually, Oruprankstaz, that was an actual in game function. You pressed ALT-plus the F1-F10 to get those animations. They were easter eggs for those of us that had the Dreamcast Keyboard, as it only worked in the lobby as well. It was posted on the Official game site at the time.
