BC PIZZA! OMG. WOO FOR BOYNE CITY MI.

Great idea!
When I first started playing I had an epiphany on how to do the motions, so I picked up a briefcase and my tipper, and viola!

Not a bad idea. I've used about anything I could find to use.
The best things to use are thinkgs that are made of hard plastic that you can bend or flex and change the tone.
The best cheap/homemade tipper I have found is one made from 14 bamboo skewers and a couple of rubber bands. They're SUPER cheap and you can experiment with rubber band placement to get a solid sound, or a brush sound from them.
Happy goat whacking!

Hey johncolmmackenzie, bow-ran is the Connacht and Munster pronunciation;
boron is the Donegal pronunciation. Check your facts before you speak. An bhfuil Gaeilge agat? I didn't think so.

nice one, im waiting to treat myself to a bodhran once I finish with night school but now im inspired how to start practicing the basics so I can make a decent sound once I get it. Great!!

Great clip! I love playing cardboard boxes, with frame drum technique (Middle Eastern) and with sticks - usually the small and medium-sized moving boxes. i've got to try a pizza box now! :)

i've always wondered how to play the bodhran when i dont have one! haha.

I've used all kinds of things from hard covered text books to garbage can lids, anything I could find when I was lacking my bodhran, but felt like playing.
Eh ? Just use a Bodhran, it sounds more like a Bodhran.
