@87keno1 But most of the time the soldier wont have the opportunity to keep his M4 clean, thats when i breaks down. This is not a problem with most of the Russian made firearms, also the AK74's ammunition has been baptized the poisonous bullet, it's a 5.56.39 but it penetrates and shreds the target on impact, much more effective rifle, specially in the hand's of a trained Spetsnaz operative. Its obvious any US Special Force wouldn't stand a chance against a Spetsnaz Platoon.

are u sure all those are assault rifles?!?!?

@bassharmonica1 Sand, grit and dirt will get in your gun without you trying, especially in combat zones like Afghanistan and Iraq. Also, the .223 is so light that wind and such can blow it completely off course pretty quickly. Both the rounds have their flaws and both the rounds have their benefits. Honestly I think that the 6.8 SPC is probably better than both the 5.56 and 7.62 simply because it combines the best of both worlds.

I want to see the M14. The AK may be good, but with an M14 you can hunt. AN AK would be an awful hunting rifle, but that M14 can take down a full grown bear. Also, why is the steyr here? THe Steyr aint that great. Most conventional shooters hate the thing. It's bullpup design is not commonplace, and takes a lot longer to get used to.

@fear432 Hey if a soldier has a brain in his head his gun will not jam up. If you throw your gun in mud and sand and dirt, no wonder it jams. THats why they keep them above thier heads when they cross over water. Also, I can carry a lot more rounds than you with your AK. Also, the the thing has little to no recoil, unlike the Ak which kicks like a mule. And, the .223 round is insanely accurate. I would take the M4 over your AK any day.

@87keno1 In sandy battlefields the M4 will easily jam during a firefight where grit and dirt are flying everywhere and the operator has no time to clean the weapon. Also, the 5.56x45 cartridge is much less accurate than the 7.62x39 due to it's light weight. Wind greatly effects the round on it's trajectory whereas the 7.62 is less effective due to it's weight. I will agree that the 5.56 does do a lot of damage because of the fact that it begins to yaw quickly but the 7.62 is still very powerful.

@fear432 the M4 only has problems if it is not clean. A professional soldier has the right equiment to keep his M4 clean. The ammunition for it is not big but its size makes the weapon more accurate than a bigger round and the bigger round is going to leave a biger hole in someone and leaving the body. when the 5.56 will frag out in the target leading to death almost ever time.
