North Attleborough Firefighters faced difficult odds at this fire on South Washington St on 12/27/10. 50+mph wind gusts, over a foot of new fallen snow, buried hydrants, and balloon frame construction faced the members at this 3rd Alarm in a large occupied victorian style house. This fire was less than a quarter mile from my house, however I was out of town when the call came in.

  • @firemike71 - curious, looks like this was exterior fire fighting only. Can you tell us why it wasn't an interior attack? Thanks!

  • @sharppointy1 Sure, this video was a little over an hour into the incident, the fire had started in the basement and traveled into the upper levels, there were concerns for the structural stability of the house. They withdrew companies, went exterior and darkened the heavy fire before sending in the incident safety officer to determine if interior operations were warranted again, which they were. By then I was too cold and had left to get warm. Thanks for your question.

  • You live a quarter of a mile from there? Where? I live on Crescent Ave.

  • @Fouge642 I live on East Wash near Chestnut
