THE PROBLEM with so many Christians is they dont understand God didnt call many wise people.

Second..they seem to need MORE than the simplicity of Christ. They know exactly what they really have to do---which is love one another--do good works--give. But what do they do instead?

They look for secrets, dates, new teachings, the sensational, promises of wealth and healing.

These movements are attracting people with magical thinking. They head toward the dark side because its easy and selfish.

One sign of godliness is the simplicity of Rom. 13:10

"Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law."

And that is on the most basic level of godliness

But what Hank is saying hear is going on, in my experience, in the black church like what Bentley has done for a long time in pentecostal circles.

There is no occultic way to God.

Only through Christ - through what He commands

men hate God. thats it. in their affliction, they should seek comfort from the lord but the y don't. They don't really want God, they want only what he has to offer. Therefore people like Bentley are Gods punishment on people that do not want God but still desire what they believe religion can offer them, healing, prosperity and longevity

You SHOULD believe the Bible. Unfortunately it is obscured from you by pride & the opinions of men and the result is a hard heart. You need a hearing heart.

You're listening to the WRONG PEOPLE. If you'll surround yourself with people who believe that "all things are possible" and "without faith it is impossible to please God" and "whatever is not of faith is sin," instead of people who are criticizing THOSE people, you'll find people who hear God, see answers to prayer and will encourage your faith.

@xxcstaleyxx Bentley is none of your business. You business is to abide in the Word and let it change you. Being distracted by what you senselessly and needlessly reject is a hindrance to hearing God. Your focus should be on the Word, not others' supposed misapplication of it. That's the wrong approach to the Bible and you won't find that behavior in the Bible unless it's "explained" to you by some unbelieving preacher like Hanegraaff or MacArthur.

FOCUS on God's Word, not YOUR OPINIONS of it.
