I saw Nicklaus in '02. Warming up, you never would've thought this was the greatest major championship player in history. Then he cracks it off the first tee, hits an iron to about 8 feet, birdie. Cracks it off the second, a par-5, then hits a 3-wood that runs through the bunker. I'm standing right rough, everybody else is walking away, and he's kind of wiping off the club, looks RIGHT AT ME with a sly grin, and says, "Heh--just like I planned it." Lipped out for eagle.

@emncaity yep. i followed them both round st andrews 1990 and 2000 .they both took the course apart in different ways but were supreme. I also saw nicklaus at 45 years old ..dont think ive ever watched anyone playing golf in such a clever way..he never seemed to face a tricky shot all day..wierd. I think he would have whipped them both!!
