Vintage color 16mm home movie of lilac and tulips. The film's dye has faded with age leaving the original film with a pronounced magenta hue. The digital transfer service firm was still able to retrieve remarkably good color from this very old footage.
Kodak first began offering Kodachrome for the home market in 1935 which makes this Spring 1936 home movie one of the earliest examples of its kind online.
The loving attention to the flowers both reflect the novelty of color film at the time and the owner's passion for her extensive gardens.
