A desire for a better world, maybe harkening back to a different era, I don't know. But I would love to wake up one morning and find there was no bad news to be reported. We may never get there, but that won't stop me from praying for peace, and thanking God for those who are willing to serve our country and believe peace is worth the price.

  • For a Canadian, Anne Murray summed up the troubles of the U.S. pretty well, very poignant song for 1983, still the same in 2010

  • @mjfoghat - Actually I think it's a world-wide problem, not just the US

  • 17 Years In The Army I Like To See Good News :-)

  • @ amcpacer100 the song was written by Tommy Rocco, Charlie Black, and Rory Michael Bourke

  • This song is etched in my mind. It was out at the time of the bombing of the Embassy in Beirut, one of those stories that you remember where you were when you heard about it. I was driving home from Chicago and had stopped for the night near Cleveland. When I turned the TV on in my motel room that morning, it was the big story. One of the victims is buried inthe local veterans cemetary.

28 years later the song still rings just as true as it did in 1983.
