This started out as a brief mini-video and somehow turned into an endless obsessive rant about the minutiae of the Polanski case. This video has no entertainment value, unless you enjoy hearing "let's be clear" over and over. See my blog for related links: http://www.illdoctrine.com

  • I wonder if all the Hollywood stars who have signed these petitions would be so quick to sign if it were their 13 year old daughter who was the victim? Hell loads of these people are parents, don't they realise signing something like this is like saying raping a 13 year old child is acceptable?

  • That was extremely intelligently and coherently spelled out. Thank you for this vid.

  • I support Polanski

  • (Laughing @ He came out smelling like roses)

  • Respects to you, sir.

  • good talk, bro. been following you for awhile.

    peace out from Brazil.

  • REAL TALK!!!!!!

  • @ColinNekritz Why don't you look at what YOU are saying before you tell me what I'm saying. I am not a judge, a lawyer, or a juror, and I assume that you are not one either. Do you know the facts at all? I understand that Polanski pled to having sex with a girl who was underage, which is statutory rape in this country. He was found guilty. He served his time, AS PER the agreement with the judge. THEREFORE, he should have paid his debt according to our laws. That is what I'm saying.

  • @IJest You're saying that justifies Roman Polanski to for all intent and purpose be able to flee the country and get away with rape. That is what you're saying in essence, it's okay to rape an underage girl after plying her with drugs and alcohol, to have sexual intercourse with her as she's saying no and then get away with it without any punishment or repercussions. That is what you are saying, just to be clear you realize, which if that's your take, okay but you have to be honest with yourself

  • The reason why people called for Polanski's release is because he had an unfair trial. The judge made a deal with the prosecutor and defense and then told them to pretend they didn't know about it for the benefit of showing off in court. Then he changed the sentence he had agreed on with the lawyers. That is not justice. I agree that the victim is the one who ultimately had to pay the price, but the fault is with our justice system.

  • As a person who spends a lot of her time counselling survivors, it angered me to no end when I heard about this case. It shouldn't matter how famous you are, or how many wazoo films you have made, rape is rape. I cried when I heard of the number of people defending this man. I thought of all the girls, girls as young as 13 who show up and tell me their stories. And it angers me knowing how many just assume this "asking for it" stance.

Your response made me feel a little better. Thank you.

  • God, you're awesome. Thank you for making this.
