There is a rather interesting glitch out there in the original Advance Wars that will allow you to edit any War Room or Campaign map. However, when you do actually get to the editing part, you'll discover the interface is... less than friendly.

It acts like you're trying to battle and design a map at the same time. That's messed up enough. Watch as I mysteriously clear Point Stormy and screw up a campaign mission.

Yes, the sound starts to lag at one point, but that is Windows Movie Maker's fault.

  • i but forgot to say that ive used another workaround

  • There are a bunch of ways to do it, this is only one of them.

  • Sorry to mock you, but I've already posted one video with the same glitch.

  • I actually noticed shortly after I uploaded mine, but I didn't really feel like deleting it. Besides, there are a lot of videos that cover the same subject here (IKAAAE is a common one). Guess I should do some more research before I upload stuff, eh.

  • Does it work on any of the new advance wars games, like the DS version?

  • No, just the first one.

  • haha that was amazing!

  • Ive done this before! I used this glitch to get a perfect S rank in the hard campaign mode. Just do the glitch and delete all of the enemy units in each level.

  • Btw, if you want to play through a mission after adding a ton of units without having to deal with the buggy textures, just save your game, then reset the GBA. Then when you load the save, you'll have the units, but the game will be back to normal.

  • @PoetryRocksGadgets Here's a real question to ponder about...

How did someone find out about this?

"Hey, I'm bored, so I'm going to go play Advanced Wars, play Naval Battles and get my Transport Copter destroyed to fail the mission. After that, I'm going to have some fun creating and deleting Orange Star units in the Design Maps screen."

  • Um, don't people realize you can skip the first 2 steps? I just did this by going into Naval Battles, getting my copter killed, going into design maps, creating and deleting 1 Orange Star unit, and it gives the exact same result.

  • Ha cool

  • Sturm Gets His Revenge!

  • I thought Andy wins by FIXING things, not completely messing things up!

  • this is a good way of winning the the game instead of following walkthourghs that barely work cuz the com doesn't always do the same thing

  • dont you get 0 for power if you just delete all your enemies -.-.. howd you get an s like that

  • how to win the war:

just delete the units of your enemy!

    haha

    ;)

  • OMG My games been corrupted that's what it says AND IT STARTED OVER FROM THE BEGINNING!!! (The thing I did was put my HQ over at sea's AND IT MADE FUNNY WEIRD NOISE!!!

    :(
