  • I remember seeing him perform on Rush street. He was great! My favorite song he played was Hobo Blues. Together with Bumble Bee Bob. He will be missed!!!

  • I just saw that Bumblebee Bob is scheduled to play the Chicago Blues Festival this year.

  • @checker764 HI Checker,GREAT posts! BTW,I was at Chi. Blues Fest in 08,After seeing Slim and the boys in the early/mid 70s at Teddy's,(now Shank Hall) in Milwaukee,I was really fired up and ready to see BBBob after all these years, but that same day he had been rushed to a hospital and was in ICU(what happened after I still dont know,)Anyway, the band carried on without him and did the show.but it was at best a bittersweet experience.

  • Hey Hal--I remember that too! Loved their sound.

  • I remember going to see these guys at the Public House in the early-mid '70s. Good times.

  • thanks for posting chicago slim blues band i really love this suond

  • I used to rent Slim a garage for a couple of his vintage cars. He liked to drive around in a hearse too. Bumble Bee Bob is cool . I went to his Oak Park place in the early 1970's and we jammed and he showed me some old school blues riffs. He is an artist as well. He liked to use the phrase "Whatever makes your boat float.." and

    " Between you, me & the lamp-post.."

  • oh wow.

    this is incredible.

  • The Public House was a regular haunt for this band in the mid-70s. They rocked.

  • Wow, I found him - I played in his band in 1971 with Jerome Arnold playing bass! Didn't know he passed.

  • noel was a chicago character. I miss him. selling the cars and his shop on sheridan. he was one of a kind!

  • Yeah, that's Tom Mitz (sp). Bumble Bee could give you the proper spelling of his name if you need it. I was playing with the Bee in Paris. Shame about Slim. Can't say that Slim was the nicest guy in the world, but he certainly was unique. By the way, the drummer is the one & only Cadillac Sammy Burton.
