The funny thing is that Franco spent most of this movie out-acting Maguire, including this scene. Goes from regretful friend coming clean to "so good" in about ten seconds.

Remove all of the superhero elements from Spider-Man 3 and what you are left with is actually a fairly amusing melodrama about a loser and his vaguely evil friend.
