I made this model in 2003 - there were no official Lego radio control components at that time. In addition to this, it would have required an electric or r/c controlled pneumatic valve to operate the pneumatic cylinders, another component which was not (and still is not afaik) available today.
In theory I could have used a custom r/c unit driving pneumatic valves built from Lego, but these mechanisms would have been too large to fit in this model.
I also wanted the model to be 100% Lego.

u should have walked up the hill with the boom and stick down and out. can you operate the arm while driving?

Sure, all functions are available all the time. We figured the "centre of gravity" thing out for the next take of the video :-)
