Iowa Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Randy McPherren explains the steps involved in measuring, or scoring a deer rack as DNR Wildlife/State Deer Biologist Tom Litchfield measures the rack. The rack was brought in by Nathan Yoder, of Seymour. The 15-year-old said he shot the deer with a muzzleloader one mile north of where he lives in October 2008. Nathan, who was there with his dad, John, and younger brother, Jesse, said when they scored the rack it measured 175 inches.
