Strawberry my tarantula

My very nice, gentle 8-legged kitty the chilean rose hair tarantula.
I used to be scared of spiders, so I used to pretend she was like my cats. She likes her quiet time, grooms, hunts and has retractable claws.
She was in a pet store with no food, no water, no substrate and nowhere to hide.
She was very weak and dehydrated and we had to syringe feed her a supplemented watered cricket meal for lizards. And we made vitamin water for her by boiling and storing her water in copper. Like an iron supplement for people.
That was when I was 6 years old.

You guys deffinately did your research knowing about the copper in the blood. I feed my waxworms on Whole Bran (has %10 copper). Hoping it has benefits to my spiders.

Did you report that pet store to the SPCA?

Yep. They moved to a new location but same treatment. The owner is really nice and takes in unwanted reptiles but the staff was awful. They closed shop in our town permanently after second report but might have openend somewhere else.

You are soooo SMART for taking so well care of her. She must like you for doing that. I think I'm going to use the vitamin water Idea on mine. How Is she doing now? :)

She couldn't move 3 of her back legs and abdomen had a dent. I was 6 when I met her and I didn't like spiders. My mom was scared of them. But it was sad how they treated her. So we thought we just need to feed and water and then set her free. We didn't even know what type she was! I learned a lot. I also give her special water that is boiled and stored in copper. Her blood is copper based so it is good for circulation and makes her shine!

@CheesyPanda1 wow, i have a starburst tarantula. that is really sad. i know its just a spider bust still, some people are just helpless a spider can literally be taken care of by a 5 year old.

Was the spider obviously wak when you got it, like a shrunken abdomen never really moved much ect?
