My tribute to Hauptmann Deitrich. It had nothing to do with the fact he was a villian one would love to hate. Or feeling sorry for Hauptmann Deitrich during defeat. It was his lovely smile, his flare, the way he handle himself, and yes, Hauptmann Deitrich being handsome. Couldn't help but to fall in love with Hauptmann Deitrich.

@spacepatrolman there were instances when soldiers were shot for retreating...but many european countries did this....maintained order and discipline...or so it was said..a famous execution occured during ww 1 when french soldiers were chosen at random from thier division to be punished because they had not advanced during an attack....thier co was killed and no 1 had the authority to order the advance

@1942PANTHERV There was an episode of true where commandoes blew up heydrichs car and a documentary I dont think it was true that the german captain shot his own men for retreating

@MiHiVidz most of the german army, the regular soldiers, were anti-nazi.

Dietrich may have been the proverbial Darth Vader of the show, but he was an anti-Nazi and in a few cases openly defied the Gestapo.

he was an honorable enemy....lived by the geneva convention..as many german soldiers did....he reminds me of gamilon leader desslok from star blazers
