@NickinDK that's right, but it's a great goal already to reach that age still being able to play that good. Muscles and tissues were not as elastic as they used to be. i bet in their mind the solos were perfect, they just weren't able to put them on the neck as well as they used to maybe. I enjoyed this piece though, I'm studying the song and their approach is very straightforward and effective.

Can't you people just listen to this great jazz & stop calling each other names? The C word is especially offensive to me as it is degrading to all women. Listen to the music, discuss it if you want, say whether you like it or don't like it & leave it at that. One thing is for sure: none of you are professional musicians or you wouldn't be talking like this. And the word is spelled "ignorant" not "ignorent"....get some education.

You go, Byrd! I love to see the older guys still going for it.

@NickinDK You have a point but it is a joy to hear these guys play nevertheless. It's all about paying homage to our elders and betters frankly.

I just hope when I reach that age that I can still play as well!

Not to be disrespectful, but none of the solos are up to the usual standards of these gentlemen. Tal in particular doesn't really show his formidable technique --he actually even sounds sloppy-- and his phrasing is strangely disconnected. You will know what I mean if you compare to his playing on, say, "Cookin' on All Burners."

This is sad...

great video/dvd reminds me of GREAT GUITARS on the Concord jazzlabel. guitarists making music this very same style. Actually Charlie Bird & Herb Ellis were / are part of that group including Barney Kessel. Even Mundell Low sat in on one recording in 1996 with special guest Larry Corryel. Thanks a lot for putting parts of this concert on YouTube now we can " see " what these youngsters look like on stage. Enno - Amsterdam - Netherlands.

Tal Farlow- what an utter legend!

lol jazz and cunts ... priceless..!!
These guys spent their lives living and playing jazz. Tal influenced many younger players and it's great to be able to see him play again even if it is only video.
