SpaceX conducted the Dragon high altitude drop test on 12 August 2010 to validate the parachute deployment systems and recovery operations. An Erickson S-64 Air-Crane nicknamed "Elvis" released Dragon from 4.26 km (14,000 feet) altitude off the coast of Morro Bay California, north of Vandenberg Air Force Base.

  • So if space is nothing then exploring space is exploring nothing?

  • The music was both extremely epic and extremely fitting :)

  • @raphaeltrumpetsound Red dragon isn't even a manned mission weirdo.

  • I thought the parachute was never going to open. Then I though the wind was going to blow the capsule over land.

The kids today don't remember what a "Splash Down" is.

  • @davidbotardo Two Steps From Hell "Freedom Fighters"

  • You all are fools...The Dragon will fall to earth like a lightning bolt...It will be the one surviving member of a seven man crew in the SpaceX "Red Dragon" Module to Mars after a failed mission attempt....He will be the only survivor...He will be of the Seven, but he won't be, it will be an alien claiming he is God....He will claim to be a savior and have seen the Universe beyond...Or at least that is how Hollywood would portray it...

  • Care pakage?

  • What is the name of that song?

  • Star Trek trailer music.

  • I am very happy to see the vidoe SpaceX conducted the Dragon high altitude drop test on 12 August 2010 to validate the parachute deployment systems and recovery operations from you, hopefully the others also are happy for You
