In this video I take a very close look at the ULA Epic backpack, the different details and options it has and how to use them. See the pack used with two different dry sacks and how to pack it if you go packrafting.

For more infos and the full review, check out my website at http://www.hikinginfinland.com where you read and see more gear reviews and trip reports about my packrafting and backpacking trips in the Nordics.

  • I like to see a review on those pants you are wearing or hiking pants in general.

  • @1mmafrka Great idea! I will be on it asap =)

  • Interesting to see on close up tnx. Seems to me though the ULA Epic is pretty expensive considering the Seal Line Storm Sack reatails for about $35 each and the ULA Epic whole thing costs $275 complete for what is pretty much a covering harness with a couple of straps and a mesh back..... or am i not seeing everything.....? is the back made form carbon fibre sheeting or something?

tnx and great vid as always

  • @sweetypie000 I could do a "Folding a packraft" video indeed! Lets see how the weather is tomorrow =)

The pack has dual aluminum stays which can be removed or adjusted to meet your needs - not shown in the video, sorry. Will need to add photos about them in an upcoming review on my blog. Also, there are now side pockets included in the pack.

  • Nice vid. Very useful! Good work ! Habichtshorst sounds german..:)

  • @spacesean Habichtshorst is German, as I am partly ;) Danke!

  • one other thing, don't suppose you have a packraft folding video do you ?? ! getting it in the back is terrible and not 100% sure how to fold without damaging valves

  • @medicjimr Thanks, glad you liked it!

  • Really Good review thanks for sharing it with us.

  • @Habichtshorst ULA's are manufactured about twenty miles from where I live. They are an amazing line. As for the wind noise, I put tape over my microphone and knocks most of the wind noise out of the video. When I'm putting the video together, I raise the volume level and save it like that on my computer. You will hear everything you're saying but the wind noise won't be loud.
