  • Is this plaster of paris?

  • @THEM0CK1NGB1RD Yes it is, but as you see it is not a very good mold, but as far as I understand the "boiling" was caused because of the moisture the mold had. Check the part 2 for a better process :)

  • Does anyone know what kind of cheap material would be good for making a mold for bismuth? I need something that it's cost efficient for a project.

  • @DeynatheTaggerung This is the attempt number 1, the number 2 is better, I recommend you to watch it, but anyway, a cheap mold I would say it could be aluminium paper. If you use enough thickness of paper could work well.

  • @Fonserbc Yes, I saw the second one :). Aluminum paper you say? Would foil also work? Or is that asking for trouble?

  • @DeynatheTaggerung Sorry, that's exactly what I meant. I just translated that from spanish :) "Papel de Aluminio" is not "Aluminium paper" but "Foil" :D

  • Is that a butane torch?

  • bismuth melts at only about 520 degrees Fahrenheit you would be able to do this better with an outdoor gas stove or the one in your house would work to

  • Bismuth Biscuits.
