If you have to remove a double deadbolt from a door in your house, it can be a little confusing if there are no visible screws or bolts anywhere. The first thing I did was search YouTube to find out if there were any videos to help me. I didn't find anything.
Apparently there are two different styles of double deadbolt. The first is this style, where the inside faceplate comes off (with very little pressure). Note: The outside faceplate may seem looser than the inside one, but don't try to pry the outside one off or you will damage it. Some people stick some strong tape to the faceplate and pull it off that way. I found a little flatheat screwdriver at the bottom of the keyhole will pop it right off with no damage.
The second style apparently involves removing the bolt cover from the side of the door, possibly extending the bolt, and using an allen key to work some mechanical magic inside the mechanism, allowing you to rotate the entire lock to expose the bolts.
Luckily, I had the easy kind. :)
My apologies for the bad lighting. This was filmed in my basement.
Been trying to figure this out for a long time. Thanks.
