Mother Love intro - Diana Rigg 1989

"Mother Love" starring Diana Rigg, James Wilby and David McCallum came out as part of the PBS Mystery series in 1989 and has never appeared on tape or DVD since. This clip consists of the series opening with theme music composed by Patrick Gowers and sung hauntingly by soprano Susan McCulloch. The series is a co-production of the BBC and WGBH Boston. It is the story of a young and successful British couple that have a presumably idyllic existence. That is except for Helena, the mother in law (Diana Rigg) with a troubled past who acts out her intense feelings of jealousy and obsessive love in the form of revenge and even murder. I'm hoping that if the demand is great enough that I will get a chance to transfer the Beta tapes that have both episodes (almost 200 minutes) and somehow get them into YouTube manageable pieces. Keep checking back for progress.

I loved it in 1989, I was 13 years old and completely hooked on this compelling, dark story.
