Do you hear a sort of gargley sound in the background? Are they playing under water? Or is me or my computer?

How 'bout them lesbians, eh?

@PTCello Where's your proof that those composers veneterated Bach as the greatest of all composers? I'm not disagreeing with you (Bach is truly the best) but where's the proof? I've never encountered this.

Brandenburg Concerto is easily the most beautiful work of art ever created. If God had a voice, it would be this.

Beautiful to hear, no to see.
Did they got St Vitus' dance ?

this thing goes from quiet little chamber trio to blaring horn duet, and that's really dang cool.

@bachkirche Yes, the horn duet is one of the highlights of this concerto. When I was younger, I didn't appreciate this repetitive movement, and thought it was very weak. But all of the "episodes" between repetitions, not just the horn duet, are so very wonderful and they give a new perspective on the ritornello when it comes back around each time.

@jramp3 People aren't saying that there's no good music today, simply that one must do a lot of sifting to separate the wheat from the chaff. It never ceases to amaze me how genuinely talented musicians are overlooked in favour of those who possess a good novelty value or will sell the most records. The lamentation is more about the general state of music, where undeniably great music (eg. that of Barrios, Liszt, Tarrega, etc.) is often forgotten about while pop singers become millionaires.

Word.
The horn duet is Bach at his absolute best. As Goethe said, Bach's music is like eternal harmony conversing with itself.
The trio between the two baroque oboes and the baroque bassoon is absolutely OUTSTANDING!
